Prepare for the interview

interviewWe all have our dream jobs. And after you have achieved the qualification to apply for that job there is only one thing that stands between you and your dream and that is interview. When you are called for an interview stay assured that a couple of questions are there that you might expect to be asked. These questions are important because a good interviewer would try and explore your inner self with the help of these questions. So it will give you an upper hand over the interviewer if you can prepare yourself for those questions and answer them exactly how you want to answer them.

To start with prepare yourself for the part called elevator speech. You will have to describe how you can add value to the company and you will have to do it within 30 seconds. So you might want to practice it before going to the interview.

You should also try and gain some knowledge about the company. Just visit their site and find out more about them. And be clear about the post that you have applied for. Make sure you present yourself as a compassionate person and interested in a carrier in the company. Remember to represent your skills in a way that can be useful for the company. Questions inquiring your hobbies, your skills as a team player or a problem solver, your mind frame and your experience will be asked. Ensure that every question should be answered from the view that serves a purpose of the company. Try to relate your skills and even your hobbies to the company’s requirement.

Some of the obvious questions that you might expect to be asked are:

Tell me something about you: while answering this question be very careful to be relevant. Do not get carried away and start telling your life story. Though, you might highlight an event of your life that taught you skills helpful for the job.

Do you think this industry will hold the same interest for you in the coming years and why: make them believe that you are very passionate to work on this field and it has been a long cherished dream of yours. You will stick to this sector as it is dynamic and you can always come up with new ideas and thus keep your interest alive in it.

How can you be sure that you will like the job: give them the idea that though you have not work with this company before you have done a bit of research on how the company works and you like the way it works. Tell them you have also consulted people who have had a chance to work here. And you are sure that this company will provide you with a chance to flourish as an individual and take your skills to the next level.

What is your biggest weakness: never say that you have none. Admit to them that you might be a little perfectionist. Or it is hard for you to accept failures. And tell them that with the experience of working in your company I will try my best to overcome the weakness.

Why would you leave the position you are in: never look down upon your previous job. Tell them that was great and you enjoyed it. But you think the new job will be even better and more challenging.

Make sure that you answer all the questions pleasantly and boldly. Admit if you are unable to answer any questions. Be precise and confident and wait for your appointment letter.
